Guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RAB35. May function as a clathrin-associated sorting protein for RAB35, whereby during clathrin-mediated endocytosis, binds the AP-2 complex and inactived RAB35, then activates RAB35 for its subsequent function at endosomes.
Tissue specificity:Highly expressed in dendritic and natural killer cells and at lower levels in other myeloid lineage cells and in pituitary. Significantly up-regulated in effector memory T cells as compared with naive T cells.

Function:
Guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RAB35. May function as a clathrin-associated sorting protein for RAB35, whereby during clathrin-mediated endocytosis, binds the AP-2 complex and inactivates RAB35, then activates RAB35 for its subsequent function at endosomes.

Subunit:
Interacts with RAB35 in the absence of nucleotide, but not in the presence of GTP. Interacts with clathrin heavy chain/CLTC and with AP2A2. Isoform 5 interacts with AP2B1.
