background:
Cipar1 may be involved in a survival program enabling certain prostatic cells to resist apoptosis. It is expressed in prostate and detected in other organs at low levels, these include the heart and various tissues of the urogenital tract; not detected in mammary gland.
Function:
May regulate TLP1 expression and telomerase activity, thus enabling certain prostatic cells to resist apoptosis

Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Golgi apparatus membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Endosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
Tissue Specificity:
Widely expressed with highest levels in heart, kidney and placenta.

Highly N-glycosylated and O-glycosylated.
