They have a role in regulating cell growth and differentiation in specific cell types. SFRP4 may act as a regulator of adult uterine morphology and function. 正常机体具有自身免疫调节功能，产生极弱的自身抗体，帮助清除体内衰老变性的自身成分，但由于某种原因导致免疫系统对自身组织产生过度免疫应答，则会发生过强的一系列免疫反应，致使所侵及的组织免疫活性细胞增多，免疫复合物沉积，而导致功能改变。当这种抗子宫内膜抗体由于反复刺激而大量产生达到一定的含量时，可与自身的子宫内膜组织发生抗原抗体结合反应，并激活免疫系统引起损伤性效应，造成子宫内膜组织细胞生化代谢及生理功能的损害，干扰和妨碍精卵结合，受精卵的着床和胚囊的发育而导致不孕或流产。 Picture
