ZFP92 belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. It contains eight C2H2-type zinc fingers and one KRAB domain. ZFP92 may be involved in transcriptional regulation.
Function:
May function as a repressor or silencer protein, and most likely exerts its repressing activity upon zinc-dependent binding to DNA. May be involved in proper spermatogenesis by repressing the expression of genes unnecessary or incompatible with the maintenance of a haploid cell state.
