Murine Foxo6 is a member of the murine forkhead family of transcription factors. This family consists of over 30 members, the vast majority of which is important in embryonic development. These forkhead transcription factors may play a role in maintenance and survival of developing and adult neurons.
Function:
Transcriptional activator.
Subcellular Location:
Cytoplasmic and Nuclear. When phosphorylated, translocated from nucleus to cytoplasm. High nuclear localization after stimulation with growth factors.
Post-translational modifications:
Phosphorylation of Ser-184 is be important in regulating the transacriptional activity.
Similarity:
Contains 1 fork-head DNA-binding domain.
